Castello Banfi

The Hotel

It may even be extremely famous due to its wines, but Castello Banfi is much more than that - it is an Italy’s must visit site.

At the center of Montalcino, the biggest wine estate of the region was transformed into a beautiful medieval origins castle. Federico Forquet, the interior designer of the hotel searched for a vibrant vision of the Tuscan country houses using earth tones and floral textile patterns to create an authentic and welcoming surrounding.

Outdoors, the guests can taste a good wine at the heated pool or outdoors overlooking the vineyards, visit the hotel’s restaurants or simply live Tuscany their own way.

The Hotel

Suites

The accommodations are spread along the main village and five different styles of suites ensure that every guest will have an unforgettable experience. Enjoy the tailor-made décor, furnitures and works of art carefully chosen and the refined atmosphere of the region.

Our favorites rooms are:

Suites

Suíte Poggio all’Oro - for up to four people (double bed + sofa bed)

The demanding travelers will love the Suíte Poggio AllÓro. With 100 m², it is the biggest suite of the hotel and it lives up to its title with two living areas (one can also be a room), two bathrooms with a bathtub and a cascading shower in the main one and, of course, its big main room.

As if that was not enough, this is the only suite in the world that has its own wine cellar with rare harvests of the three Brunello di Montalcino labels signed by Castello Banfi.

This suite is perfect for couples. Two bathrooms, one big bedroom with a king size bed, a living area, Tuscan style furniture and a separated living room with a sofa bed. You will be amazed when you open the windows to enjoy the sunrise in this suite because the view is just phenomenal!

Amenities

Gastronomy

La tavern Banfi is informal and a great option for lunch. It is located at the antique Castello’s wine cellar where the big barrels used for aging Brunello di Montalcino used to be stored.

Sala dei Grappoli is in the hotel and is the translation of class and romance. If the weather allows, do not hesitate to ask for a table at the terrace, outdoors from where you can admire the fascinating lights of the castle. A seasonal menu allows you to savor traditional Tuscany dishes displayed with a modern touch and accompanied by an excellent wine menu. The tempting cheese and deserts selection are mouth-watering.

Gastronomy

Gastronomy - Enoteca

Enoteca serves the property’s wines with a regional bread, cheese and salami. You can also buy a variety of locally produced pasta, as well as olive oil, balsamic vinegar and other products such as ceramic, wool, soap, wine glasses and books.
