Very well located along the Bosphorus at the "European side" of Istanbul, this 19th century palace was completely restored and opened in 2008. It has, undoubtedly, some of the best views of the city and of the Strait that can be enjoyed from some of the suites, from the wonderful pool and from the outdoor breakfast area. It translates all this majesty through its architecture and interior decor in earthy shades, beige, silver and gold, besides the Ottoman elements such as the Turkish tiles and colored glass sconces. The fountains give the decor a romantic touch.
Such splendor allied to the tranquility, privacy and to the impeccable service that the hotel offers attract mostly artists and celebrities who want to experience an authentic Turkish experience with maximum comfort.
The 170 rooms and suites are divided into two buildings: the "Historic Palace" and the north and south wings. Some rooms and all suites have spectacular views of the Bosphorus strait and of the yachts that pass by.
The accommodations are an opulent fusion of the traditional Ottoman architecture with contemporary furnishings.
Our favorites are:
This elegant suite has this name because of the homonymous historical palace of the Ottoman Empire built in the second half of the 19th century, which is now the heart of the hotel. It is definitely Bosphorus’ best view and its privacy allows the guests to enter through the private door that separates it from other rooms on the same floor. Atik Pasha has three bedrooms with private bathrooms, a living room, a dining room (for up to 10 people), an office and a kitchen with modern equipment. The master suite has by itself 310 m², which with its adjacent rooms can reach almost 400 m². This is equivalent to half of the second floor of the "Historic Palace" building.
The suite's decor combines traditional with modern. Each detail is tailor-made, including the parquet flooring which is from a special tree that grows in Malaysia. Murano chandeliers, Vanelli curtains, a large bath and handmade glass items are also unique features in this suite, as well as several paintings by local contemporary artists.
With views of the inner courtyard and of the Bosphorus, the Two Bedroom Bosphorus Palace Suite is perfect for families. A living room and dining room with a bar and two suites, one with a king size bed and the other with two single beds, both decorated in order to really fit in a typical bedroom of an Ottoman palace in tones of cream, terracotta, copper and burgundy touches in addition to hand painted traditional motifs on the ceiling.
A spacious 45 m² suite that also has a stunning view of the Bosphorus and some of the main sights of the city, such as the Maiden Tower and the domes of the "Old City". Decorated in tones of brown and blue (matching the beautiful tone of the river), you will feel like a true member of the local nobility.
Feel pampered with Bvlgari amenities, arranged in the sumptuous bathrooms.
The breakfast is at the Aqua restaurant terrace during the summer and inside the restaurant in the winter or in unfavorable weather conditions. What a view! It is fascinating to enjoy your breakfast with various dishes, assorted drinks and fruits watching the morning movement of the boats on Bosphorus. For lunch, it is worth trying one of their specialties: the fish of the market baked with tomatoes, capers and Antakya olives. If you are at the pool, do not miss the selection of typical and quick dishes that will feed you with a little more of the traditional Turkish cuisine at The Club. The ice creams are a highlight, as well as any of the desserts with includes chocolate.
Enjoy the sunset with a glass of rosé in the Yali Lounge terrace and check out their selection of cigars.
For dinner, the elegant restaurant Aqua welcomes its clients in a cool atmosphere and an impressive wine list that also includes national options. The team of chefs does not spare creativity and use a rich combination of spices to create Turkish and Italian dishes. Do not miss the lamb! It is simply delicious! In the summer, it is worth sitting at the terrace to enjoy your dinner with Bosporus as the background and an elegant set of lights illuminating the hotel, making you feel like you are at a movie set.
