The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort

The Hotel

Whether it be with a frozen margarita or a Jamaican drink, be very welcome to St. Regis Punta Mita! A beautiful hotel, stated in kilometers of a beautiful beach in the Pacific.

If you take a seat in a hut on the white sands of St Regis Punta Mita, you could seem to be anywhere in the US central Pacific coast... until you enjoy a fish taco that is served to you right there. Then you start to realize you are in Mexico.

Enter the hotel through an elegant reception and proceed with the check in at the soft sofa in front of the infinity pool that already makes you want to enjoy the sea, directly across. The hostess shows you a quick questionnaire with preferences and allergies and she briefly presents you the hotel, making you already feel part of this chic village.

Expect high-level luxury without stuffiness. This is a place where you will feel comfortable to have lunch in your swimsuit. The hotel's decor is vaguely - and elegantly - Mexican: the pink flowers around the resort, the cushions with traditional embroidery... besides that, you can taste hibiscus juice in traditional multicolored glasses, which can be found in local markets.

Accomodations

There are only 122 rooms and suites across the 22-acre resort, which gives you a sense of privacy. All accommodations are arranged in traditional style yellow houses. Inside, they feature Mediterranean and Mexican rustic touches, including handmade tiles and natural wood furniture.

Even one of the smallest options, the Deluxe, is spacious, and all of them have garden or ocean views, spacious terraces and marble bathrooms with bathtub and a private terrace with outdoor shower. We recommend choosing a suite close to the sea.

The must is the signature St. Regis butler service; each suite comes with their own. Add your butler on Whatsapp (Wi-Fi works everywhere, even on the beach), so he can take care of any request you make. The hardest part is to leave him when you make the check out.

Our favorite options are:

Accomodations

Suite Amanecer (2 king beds and 2 queen beds - for up to 8 adults)

The large living area has polished clay floor and natural clay ceilings. The spacious kitchen with individual service entrance is next to the separate dining room with seats for up to eight people. Three large bedrooms - two with a king size bed and one with two queen beds - invites you to rest, thanks to the 300 thread Egyptian cotton sheets and the spacious closets. Each suite has its own bathroom, which is equipped with a shower, bath, double sinks, exclusive bath products from Remède and an outdoor shower. An additional guest toilet also has a shower.

Gastronomy

The pre breakfast - coffee with cookies - is served in your suite by your butler. After enjoying it, go back to bed and enjoy the post-awakening feeling.

Finally, the breakfast takes place at the restaurant Sea Breeze. You can also start the morning lighter with a break in Coco Station, to taste its fresh coconut a few steps from the sea!

For lunch, Las Marietas is perfect, next to one of the resort pools. Choose between a taco, burrito or fajita and fall into ecstasy with the explosion of regional flavors on your palate. If you prefer seafood, go to Mita Mary Boat Bistro, a super exclusive restaurant in a boat and try ceviche with fresh fish, mahi mahi tacos, lobster, oysters or the mini octopuses.

At the end of the day try the selection of margaritas at Sea Breeze. Start with the traditional, then taste the Tropical Margherita with tamarind and pineapple, and finish with Chille Margarita. Cheers!

For pre-dinner on Fridays  do not miss the Champagne Ritual  at the hotel lobby, an event that has joined the destination calendar, where you can enjoy an exceptional demonstration of skill as the general manager revives the traditional art of sabering.

Enjoy your dinner at the signature hotel restaurant, Carolina, led by Chef Jose Meza. Mexican modern cuisine combined with local ingredients. Be sure to taste the roast beef with pickled cactus and avocado!

Also, do not miss the gourmet restaurant Altamira Cantina Gourmet for marrow taco or a great chicharron with parsley.

Surf & Leisure

For wives who dream of a surf spot where they can follow the sport in a beach chair with rosé, this is paradise. The hotel has three surf spots, 3 right waves within 10 minutes walk of the suites. Our favorite is certainly the right wave breaking in front of the adult pool, Areca. Also worth discovering in the area: La Lancha, Punta Burro, El Anclote (great for longboard) and Chacala, accessible by boats. Ask your attentive butler to organize your activities. Surf practice takes place in the region throughout the year, particularly the months of April to October.
Besides surfing, the hotel features a range of activities, starting with the pools. There are the total of three, arranged so that all suites have a nearby pool.
The morning starts with yoga and SUP class. In the evening, choose between ceviche or guacamole classes, or simply relax at the Remède Spa with a seaweed massage detox or an Aloe Vera after sun treatment.
At the end of the day, get ready to enjoy an incredible sunset, those you usually see in Asia. A vintage bike will be at your disposal for a ride in the condo. During your stay, be sure also to take a boat ride in the area to visit Los Arcos and Marietas Islands.
Finally yet importantly, enjoy the hotel gym, next to the Spa, with modern equipment and spinning classes! In addition, the complex Punta Mita in which the hotel is part offers two beautiful golf courses, Bahia and Pacific, designed by Jack Nicklaus. The course in the island called Tail of Whale is worth to be highlighted.
As for the children (5 to 12 years), there are a lot of fun at Club La Tortuga, with many creative activities and games.
