Super chic, built in 1868 by Baron Oppenheim to his wife and later bought by the widow of Emperor Napoleon III, Villa Cora is an ode to art and architecture. Exuding class and elegance, the hotel's interior reflects the good taste and refinement of the old aristocratic class and theBelle Epoque: the mirrors’ room famous for being the most beautiful ballroom of Florence, the Moorish room with its splendid Eastern decorations and the ceramics’ room where is located the Le Bar Long. The magnificent outdoor heated pool is a novelty of the complete renovation made in the hotel in 2010. The Boboli gardens surrounding the hotel have a variety of over 100 roses.
Being both a cultural and cosmopolitan symbol of Florence, this legendary hotel went through an extensive three-year renovation under the supervision of the Italian architect Marianna Gagliardi, who tried to conserve as much of its original architecture as possible.
The Villa has 45 rooms and suites located in the Main Villa and in the two adjacent buildings. The rooms and suites went through a painstakingly restauration in order to conserve its original 1800s architectural style. In the main residence, there are 29 rooms and suites located on the four floors, each one characterized by its own style: Marvelous and original frescoes that captivate the guests distinguish the first floor or the “Noble Floor”. The second floor is a tribute to the former empress Eugenia, widow of Napoleon III who was passionate about roses. The third is the floor dedicated to the Orient, decorated in the Moresque and oriental style. And the last one, located on the top floor has a junior suite that was inspired by America in the ‘50s.
With original frescoes of the 19th century artists Angelo Pietrasanta and Luigi Samoggia and a crimson canopy bed, this suite is royalty worthy and honors the Japanese Emperor Akihito, one of the hotel’s most celebrated guests. It is on the first floor of the hotel, overlooks the whole city and is full of antiques. The second interconnecting suite has a blue velvet bed and two bathrooms - one per suite, both in Carrara marble with a bathtubs and a French balcony.
The Junior Suite America of the 1950s is the only with a private elevator and is decorated in violet velvet, hand-painted white and gold and has three big windows that overlook the internal garden.
All Villa Cora bathrooms offer Officina Profumo-Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella amenities for the guests.

In the winter, the gastronomic scene takes form at the Mourish Room and becomes the center of the foodie’s attention. The passion for a simple but elegant and well-executed cuisine in addition to the knowhow of the chef highlight the authentic flavors of the Italian cuisine in this restaurant. It is also in this time of the year that the breakfast is served in the Long Bar.
Chef Alessandro Liberatore signed the restaurant’s menu.
There is also a cigar room, where you can enjoy a brandy while chatting with your friends and on the top floor of the hotel, you can appreciate the views of the beautiful Florentine monuments at the spacious and elegant Bellevue Roof Terrace, a spacious and elegant terrace overlooking the monuments of the bella città.
